In celebration of International Mindfulness Day 2016, Sashbear released another compassionate message of hope to commemorate Sasha on her birthday, March 10th. in 2016, thirteen brave souls stepped forward to share from their hearts an honest portrayal about living with symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) .Their candid, personal journeys offer strength and hope for those still struggling day to day. As well, Dr. Blaise Aguirre, medical director of McLean3 East hospital in Boston, contributes mindful insights toward positive outcomes for this condition.

During the fall of 2016, every Monday, for each of the 13 participants of the Having A Life Worth Living film, their powerful and hopeful individual stories will be released here, one by one.
We want to wholeheartedly thank all of the participants of this film, who are courageous warriors and heroes, as well as all of those volunteers and organizations that made these individual stories possible as well as the original film. In particular, among those volunteers, special thanks go to Director Karen Waddell whose loving and compassionate vision was masterfully put to life by Editor Wally Goodwin - both Karen and Wally spent countless hours creating these films for the noble purpose of giving participants a voice so their stories could be heard.

Selena's Story - "We were not given the basic skills to cope with emotions that we face everyday. Our feelings are valid. There needs to be more awareness - having a compassionate mindset...can make a huge difference in our lives. You are a warrior and you have survived..that's the most beautiful thing a person can say about themselves."
Sam's Story - "That's a fantastic feeling to feel understood, to be listened to, to be connected..Self stigma is huge, it's another obstacle you have to jump through, and there's no therapy for that...Recovery is not just getting "better", it just means having a life that you define as thriving."
Mehma's Story - "Through DBT interpersonal effectiveness I could start recognizing that even if I felt invalidated that people did not intend on invalidating me. With DBT I was able to recognize what I wanted to do with my life. You are not crazy, everything you are feeling is valid. These are waves of emotions that will eventually end and you will learn how to cope with them."
Maria's Story - "Acknowledging my emotions was a huge part of my recovery...DBT has changed my life. The most successful thing about my recovery is me!"
Julies's Story - "I don't want to be part of the stigma...if we don't stand up and speak up about this then we feed the stigma. There are so many beautiful qualities about people with BPD... Helping others can be so rewarding."
Georgia's Story - "There isn't enough help or research around BPD to really understand how people are thinking when they have been diagnosed with it cause as a society we need to try and understand these people right?.. but we seem to be failing to do that"
